Artist statement

I prefer to focus on the medium of painting, but at the same time I study the possibilities of its overlaps, which is characterized by discursive input and materials research.

I connect the painting and subject it to various experimental practices at the level of the diversity of materials, pigments and pads.

I experiment with a combination of traditional and non-traditional pigments by methods of biochemical oxidation processes. This ensures a special effect for topics that are current and at the same time connected with the author' s inner experience.

In terms of social-critical reflection, the current value-emptying or deviated time, I reflect and emphasize the performance of the individual and the preference for pseudo patterns.

From this point of view, figural creation and work with archetypes of cultural memory dominate. I perceive emblematic figurative compositions and icons of classical art as a model of values and their contemporary value misinterpretation.

In addition to the medium, paintings also study the possibilities of its overlaps (like painting in expanded space). I connect painting with performance, happening, I subject it to various experimental practices at the level of material. 

Umelecké stanovisko

Prednostne sa venujem médiu maľby, ale zároveň študujem možnosti jej presahov, ktorá je charakteristická diskurzívnym vkladom a materiálovým výskumom. Maľbu prepájam a podrobujem rôznym experimentálnym praktikám na úrovni rôznorodosti materiálu, pigmentov a podkladu. Experimentujem s kombináciou tradičných i netradičných pigmentov, metódami biochemických oxidačných procesov, čím sa zaisťuje osobitý efekt pre témy, ktoré sú aktuálne a zároveň prepojené s vnútorným prežívaním autora. Z hľadiska sociálnokritickej reflexie, súčasnej, hodnotovo vyprázdňujúcej, či vychýlenej doby reflektujem a kladiem dôraz na výkony jedinca a preferovanie pseudovzorov. Z tohto pohľadu dominuje figurálna tvorba a práca s archetypmi kultúrnej pamäte. Emblematické figuratívne kompozície a ikony klasického umenia vnímam ako model hodnôt a ich súdobej hodnotovej dezinterpretácie.

Okrem média maľby, zároveň študujem možnosti jej presahov ( ako maľba v expandovanom priestore). Maľbu prepájam s performanciou, happeningom, podrobujem ju rôznym experimentálnym praktikám na úrovni materiálu.
